First things first, can you tell us about the proposal?

Dan proposed whilst we were on holiday in Mexico at our special hotel where we had one of our first holidays.

What made you choose Redhouse Barn for your wedding day?

Loved it the moment we walked through the door on our first visit.  Jane made us feel so welcome and explained things in a warm friendly manner without being pushy.

Was it love at first sight when dress shopping or did you have try a few on before finding the perfect one? And not forgetting the suits for the boys, how did they get on?

I tried on over 70 dresses, I saw this one on the 'cat-walk' at the NEC wedding show.  I found out it was a local company who designed and made them - Ivory and Co, Earls Croome.  Dan decided to wear his RAF uniform for the first part of the day then changed to be the same as his groomsmen etc. We bought the suits for the groomsmen from Next and gave them as presents. Our little groomsman had his outfit Next and the flower girls dress was from John Lewis.

So, Venue booked, how was the rest of the planning process?

My mm did everything!  She ran ideas past us then got on with it!

Fast forwarding through all the planning to the actual ceremony, how were the emotions for both of you during the ceremony?

All excited but I felt calm.  Dan is very organised so he had his morning planned to the last minute!

Did you have a theme or colour scheme running through the day? Tell us a little bit about your flowers and any other personal touches.

Our colour scheme was coral and the theme of the day was bicycles as both Dan and I enjoy down-hill mountain biking.  The florist was very helpful as she had done flowers at the venue before so we took advice from her.  We were delighted with them.

How would you describe the food and service throughout the day?

Food - delicious, wonderful, exquisite, excellent, yummy, the best ever.  Service could not have been any better, it was excellent from beginning to end!

What kind of cake did you go for? Was it traditional/ modern/ flavoured/ cupcakes/ naked?

We had a three tier sponge made by one of the parents of a child in my class.  I saw a picture, showed it to her and she made it.  It was delicious too.

How did your first dance go?

It was very romantic, but Dan and I had told people that we didn't want to be too long on the floor on our own so gave a cue for them to join us!

What do your guests mention most about your wedding day?

Everyone said it was the best wedding they had been to.  They haven't stopped talking abut the food and service and how relaxed the day was.

Is there anything you would change if you were to do it all again?

No, it was perfect!!

Do you have any hints or tips for couples looking to get married?

Do it at Redhouse Barn!!

Finally, where did you go on your honeymoon?

Mauritius.
