First things first, can you tell us about the proposal?

Dave proposed on a weekend away in Lake Windermere.  Overlooking the lake.  It was true Dave style.

What made you choose Redhouse Barn for your wedding day?

We instantly fell in love with the venue.  Its contemporary feel and the way it can be dressed in so many different ways made it the perfect venue to have fun with.

Was it love at first sight when dress shopping or did you have try a few on before finding the perfect one? And not forgetting the suits for the boys, how did they get on?

For the men it was easy, Men in uniform, how could you resist!  For myself it was a little harder - I visited many local boutiques before deciding on having a dress custom made at Hagley Bridal Studio.  I wanted a dress that fitted perfectly, so this was the only way I could truly get that.

So, Venue booked, how was the rest of the planning process?

I found the planning quite easy, actually working within the industry as a bridal hairdresser I already had a lot of contacts. Pinterest is also a bride's best friend!

Fast forwarding through all the planning to the actual ceremony, how were the emotions for both of you during the ceremony?

We were both really chilled about the ceremony.  I think we were more excited for the day ahead.  Months of planning and the day was finally here!

Did you have a theme or colour scheme running through the day? Tell us a little bit about your flowers and any other personal touches.

Our theme was 'vintage glam', with a dusky pink colour scheme.  It worked perfectly in the venue and being a Spring wedding it really suited the season.  Music is a big thing during a wedding, so we had planned a playlist that kept the whole day upbeat.  Flowers were also a key part of our wedding table dressing and were done perfectly by Hillary at Eloquent Flowers.

How would you describe the food and service throughout the day?

The food and service were brilliant throughout the day.  We couldn't fault it at all.

Special thanks to Rob the Master of Ceremonies, who was worth his weight in gold.  He made our day run flawlessly and nothing was too much trouble.

The food was amazing and beautifully presented - our guests are still saying how amazing our wedding day was!

What kind of cake did you go for? Was it traditional/ modern/ flavoured/ cupcakes/ naked?

We went for a four tier birdcage cake from the Red Cake Company - Pam is so lovely and created just what we wanted.  Not only did it look amazing, it tasted it too.  Each layer was a different flavour, our favourites being the raspberry and lemon.

How did your first dance go?

Our first dance was a giggle.  By the time we got to it we were rather tipsy and we were just having an amazing time.  I'll have to watch the video back to see how it really looked!

What do your guests mention most about your wedding day?

My guests actually talk about one of the bands I had called the Glamophones , they are a retro girl band and I asked them to perform all 40s/50s music.  They performed for an hour to kick the evening reception off.  Everyone was up dancing in the bar!

Is there anything you would change if you were to do it all again?

I wouldn't change a thing!  It was perfect!

Do you have any hints or tips for couples looking to get married?

Have everything you want no matter how much it costs.  You will have the perfect day and you won't have any regrets of 'oh I wish we'd had that'

Finally, where did you go on your honeymoon?

Mexico.
